Artwork Guidelines

Artwork is the key to unlocking any design. If the wrong artwork "key" is provided or created, a design may not be fully realized, or in extreme cases, the design may even be unusable.

The use of approved artwork formats will aide our Graphics Department in the creation of your layout and design and ultimately the successful printing of your job.

To minimize or avoid artwork charges and to ensure the quality of your design, artwork must be supplied in one of the following formats:

1. Computer Disk or E-mail - Artwork files (Mac or P.C. based) which have been saved on a CD or DVD, or that can be e-mailed are acceptable provided they contain all fonts (or convert fonts to curves/outlines) and are created or exported to size in no less than 300 dpi in one of the following formats:

    • CorelDraw 11.0 or lower
    • Photoshop CS3 or lower
    • Illustrator CS3 or lower
    • InDesign CS3 or lower

Vector Art is always preferred.

NOTE: E-mailed files must be 10 MB or smaller.

For some applications, the following formats may be acceptable -- please consult with our Graphics Department for further details, (541-770-5362 or graphics@crown-prints.com).

    • JPEG
    • Windows Bitmap (BMP)
    • Encapsulated Post Script (EPS)
    • TIFF (TIF)

NOTE: Artwork not meeting the criteria above will be subject to additional charges.

2. Black and White Camera Ready Line Art - PMT's, Glossy's or laser printer output may be acceptable, depending on your job requirements. Size is important as artwork may need to be scanned and redrawn, (graphic design charges may apply). Please make sure all artwork is "clean". Large format (8.5" X 11") is desired with any B/W artwork.
If you are using a laser printer to output your design, please size it to fit an 8.5" X 11" piece of paper. Business cards, letterhead or the like will result in poor quality artwork.

NOTE: Several other formats may be acceptable, though not preferred. Please call CROWN PRINTS at (541) 770-5362 or e-mail us at graphics@crown-prints.com for more information.

Whether using camera ready artwork or disk/e-mail, please provide a sketch of a proposed layout and color usage, noting fonts used. A daytime phone number for contact person is also helpful.
